Two Left Feet

Ben Klick, known as “The Guitar Pickin’ Country Gentleman” who fuses modern country sounds with a traditional twist, wrote and released a brand new song, “Two Left Feet”. After living in Nashville working as an artist, songwriter, guitar player, and producer, he’s back at home and ready to play and share experiences and stories of what life is like down in Music City.
Klick states, “I was going through my catalogue of songs I’ve written over the years, and since living in Nashville I’ve fallen further in love with the traditional sides of country music. The storytelling, the band all being together in one room recording… the collaboration and fun that goes into the creation process is what continues to drive me daily. I’ve been playing this song out at various writers’ nights and it always seems to put a smile on people’s faces.”
Inspired by an evening at the OK Corral in Kelowna, BC, Klick was packing up gear at the end of a 3-hour show and was asked to dance by someone on the dancefloor. “I said I had two left feet and couldn’t dance. Still can’t dance to this day. And I joke that even though I’m a musician, that doesn’t necessarily mean I have rhythm.”
Leaning into the traditional side of country music Klick is known for guitars, fiddles, steel, and a story. “Two Left Feet” is a fun, modern take on western swing influenced by bands and artists such as Bob Wills, and The Time Jumpers. What starts as a waltz quickly turns into a two-stepping and line dancing swing tune with a timeless sound.
“When I look back and reflect on what I love about country music, it’s the authenticity, storytelling, and musical talents that stand out. And making people smile, dance, remember, or escape from what may be going on for them at the time is a big part of why I do what I do. And one day, I will play the Grand Ole Opry and be a member of the Opry Band, and will be a member of The Time Jumpers. My heart and soul lives in country music and having a platform to share my story and other people’s stories through music is quite a blessing. Music is what I do. It’s who I am. And it’s who I’ll always be.”
Klick’s passion for music and community over the last year brought his “Music Fest MS” fundraiser over the $170,000 mark supporting those with Multiple Sclerosis, led to playing side-musician gigs at Bridgestone Arena and The Hard Rock Stage during CMA Fest amongst others, and put him into various famous studios like Blackbird and RCA Studio recording guitars for other artists. Now, Klick is back in Kelowna for the Canadian Country Music Awards and Conference Week. You can catch Ben performing at various venues from September 9-13.
